How to Wear a Cleanroom Face Mask

Wearing the mask properly is just as important as the mask itself. Here’s how to ensure optimal protection:

Before Putting the Face Mask On: Even though the mask is sterile, your hands likely aren’t. Wash your hands using antibacterial soap or sanitize with alcohol solution (if trained properly).

Fitting the Mask: Cover both your mouth and nose completely. An effective barrier must be airtight. This can sometimes feel restrictive, as part of your exhaled air remains within the mask.
Sealing the Mask: Ensure there are no gaps. Depending on the mask style, this may involve pressing the edges around your face for a tighter seal.
Breathing with the Mask: Once sealed, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth to reduce moisture buildup and maintain mask integrity.
